Seven Weightloss Tips For Beginners
By Harley Grosser
1. Set Goals
You need to have a reason to keep pushing when temptation arises or you simply don’t feel like doing it anymore. The goal/s need to be both physical and emotional. For example your physical goal may be to lose 20kg (44lbs) but this isn’t strong enough to motivate you when you don’t feel like continuing. An emotional goal such as ‘to be able to play with the kids’ or ‘to enjoy life to its fullest’ will ensure you keep focused to achieve your ultimate weightloss goals.
2. Start Exercising
If you are a complete beginner, start with something light like 30 minute walks, 4 times/week and build from there. Don’t rush into exercising to quickly. Build up gradually to allow your body to recover and grow stronger.
3. Include Resistance Training
Resistance training is becoming increasingly popular among the general population and for good reason. It increases muscle mass which means your body burns more calories while at rest. It also improves insulin sensitivity which means less insulin is released by the body, resulting in less fat storage. Another benefit is its nutrient partitioning effects – put simply it means the foods you eat get put to use as energy for muscles rather than being stored as fat.
Benefits not limited to weightloss include reducing elevated blood pressure, preventing osteoporosis, strengthening the immune system and improving posture.
4. Take Control Of Your Diet
Nutrition can be very complex and the ‘ideal’ diet for each individual varies greatly due to differences in size, preferences, goals, age, activity levels and a host of other factors. Having said that there are a few key factors that are universal for all people who want to lose weight. The first is that you must burn more calories than you consume either through diet and/or exercise. Next you need to make sure that what you do eat covers all your nutritional requirements. This can normally be achieved by eating a variety of foods but in some cases supplements may be necessary. Finally, your diet needs to be enjoyable! Associating the words ‘diet’ and ‘enjoyable’ may seem odd but an enjoyable diet translates to a sustainable diet. And sustainability will mean you not only lose weight but keep it off.
5. Include Variety
This goes for your exercise and nutrition. Variety will prevent boredom and means you will continue on your quest to lose weight.
Adding variety to your exercise program is easy. You can change the exercises, rep ranges or even the type of exercising. Instead of running you could swim. You could replace cycling with a boxing class. Or start a sporting team with friends.
Including variety in your nutrition is a little more difficult. When replacing one food with another you need to make sure it still fits into your calorie and macronutrient goals. You also need to control the portion size. However, doing so will make sure your ‘diet’ doesn’t feel like a diet at all.
6. Continue to Learn
If you are reading this article then you are already putting this important step into action. It is can be very handy to continue learning about different ways to exercise and eat in order to lose weight. You don’t have to hit the books but simply talking to others in the gym who have achieved what you want to achieve may help.
(Note: I emphasise may help. There is a great deal of myths and mumbo jumbo out there so be careful when taking advice from someone who got their information from ‘a friend of a friend.’)
7. Consistency Is Key
Put the first 6 steps into action and then be consistent. The only way to continue to lose weight is to consistently do what needs to be done. For some of you there may be a fairly large amount of weight that you need to lose before you reach your goal. To do so you will need to be consistent. Don’t fall into the trap of TV and magazine commercials offering instant success with the latest ‘AB-pro’ or ‘jiggle machine.’ These types of advertisements are simply trying to take advantage of your deep desire to lose weight. Instead, find out what needs to be done and do it consistently. If you do I guarantee you will lose the weight.

Maybe you are a woman who is looking to lose weight? Possibly you are interested in losing weight to improve your physical appearance, your health, or both, you may be feeling a little bit hopeless. While many women are able to lose weight when they want to do so, others have a little bit harder time. If you are finding it hard to lose weight, it may be because you are trying to go about losing weight with no help.
When it dealing with weight loss, there are many women who find it easier, as well as less taxing, doing their own weight loss program from home. While it is possible to exercise and workout by yourself, do you know that you don’t have to? In fact, many women who have a workout partner or a workout buddy find it easier to lose weight than going at it along. Two popular reasons as to why those who have a partner to workout with, or a workout buddy succeed, is because of support and motivation.
Even though you should think about getting a workout buddy or a workout partner, to help you exercise and to help you lose weight, you may ask yourself where that person may come from. Unfortunately, many women do not realize that they don’t actually have to look very far. Women who are married or if you have a romantic partner, you may want to think about asking them to join you. Maybe if your partner isn’t a fan of exercising and working out, you can place a “quality time,” spin on it. If your partner is a little bit overweight or out of shape themselves, they may even want to join you in your weight loss adventures. This would be the ultimate show of support.
It seems like new information is discovered about something every day. And the topic of weightloss is no exception. Keep reading to get more fresh news about weightloss.
Also in addition to a romantic partner, you can think about asking any of your friends or family members if they would like to be your workout buddy or workout partner. When asking your friends or family members, it is important to not focus on their weight or their physical appearance. Unfortunately, many women mistakenly assume that those that they know who may already be in perfect shape wouldn’t have any reason to exercise, but you may be surprised. For this very reason, you are advised to ask any friends or family members that you know to accompany you when you workout.
After you have asked those that you know to join you as a workout buddy or a workout partner and you have still come up with no one, consider joining a weight loss program. Locally operated weight loss programs are ideal, as you often get membership perks, like access to proven exercises, as well as healthy meals. Still another benefit to joining a locally operated weight loss program is the support from other members. But there is a good chance that one or more of your other weight loss program members would love to join you when you exercise.
So if you get a workout buddy, it may be a good idea to “spice up,” your exercises a bit. For example, you may want to let your workout buddy or partner choose your exercises or activities for one day and then you choose for the next. This can help to keep your exercises fun and exciting.
So you can understand why there’s a growing interest in weightloss. When people start looking for more information about weightloss, you’ll be in a position to meet their needs.
Weight Loss Tablets - Insider Tips
One common mistake most dieters make is involves intake. It is not that they are taking in too much. In this case they are not ingesting enough. Water is crucial to any diet plan but it seems to be nearly impossible to get the suggested 64-ounces of water each day. Somehow, though dieters dont seem to have a problem taking in flavored drinks by the gallon. They also seem to have a problem taking their weightloss tablets as well.
Anyone who is on the go (which is everyone in todays society) knows how difficult it is to remember everything we have to do in the morning. This includes taking our vitamins and our weightloss tablets. This forgetfulness can be a real detriment to any diet plan that requires a lot of will power.
There are those that argue that there is no such thing as will power. We have the ability to turn the cheesecake away with a smile for only so long. Sooner or later the temptation gets the better of us especially after spending weeks and weeks adhering to a diet. We often feel denied and tend to give in to tempting treats unless we use weightloss tablets to control the urge. The weightloss tablets are will power for many dieters.
Also, the water issue preys on dieters who are simply sick of drinking the bland beverage that gives our mouths little or no feedback. Many of us want a little spice or a little flavor especially if we feel denied in our everyday diets. The quest for taste can be a powerful motivator and it can be the beginning of a binge.
The makers of Dexatrim have come up with a valuable solution to the water intake problem and the problem of forgetting our very important weightloss tablets. Dexatrim Max2O tablets dissolve in a glass of water. The product is ephedra free and it contains green tea. The weightloss tablets also boast great flavor as well which is a real motivator for the water-hating community of dieters.
The benefit of the product is that it is very easy to use and it can be taken anywhere there is water. You simply drop the weightloss tablets into water and watch the bubbles. They work a lot like Alka Seltzer but with great taste. They also suppress the appetite and help you feel satisfied. These weightloss tablets are the wave of the dieting future.
Sometimes Weight Loss Can be Bad for You
Weight loss is a popular topic of conversation in today’s society; from newspapers and magazines to television and websites, everyone is talking about weight loss. While weight loss is necessary for some, such media hype is causing many young girls (and even boys) to turn to anorexia, bulimia and other eating disorders in a bid to look like the size zero celebrities that taunt them from every newsstand and television set. Knowing when you need to lose weight and when you don’t is important to ensure you stay healthy and avoid falling foul of a terrible disease.Losing weight is often a personal decision; but if you are more than 20 pounds overweight then weight loss will be necessary for your health. However, everyone’s bodies are different and you should consult your doctor before embarking on any kind of weight loss plan. Your doctor will be able to tell you what your normal weight should be and help you put together a plan to reach that weight through sensible eating and exercise. It is important for everyone to understand their ideal weight; everyone’s bodies are different shapes and just because you are not a size zero like your favourite TV star it doesn’t mean that you need to lose weight. It may come as a surprise but models and actresses are quite often airbrushed in photos to make them look slimmer and more toned, it’s just a fancy trick. If your body weight is normal then you do not need to lose weight, even if you are a dress size larger than your favourite celebrity. There will be times in your life when you will gain weight, and this is natural and healthy. Weightloss is especially common during puberty and the following years. You may gain a few pounds but you’ve probably grown a few inches too. If you have been working out at the gym then you should expect to gain some weight as muscles are heavier than fat. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, you should not try and lose weight simply because someone makes a rude comment about your appearance. As long as you weight is in the normal range for someone of your height and age then you should be happy with your weight. People who make such rude comments usually have some sort of insecurity themselves and can safely be ignored. Learn to love your body, eat a healthy diet and don’t worry about how much you weigh.
